There are SO many photographers out there, why should I/we pick you?

There has been a huge insurgence of interest in photography since the advent of digital cameras – and that’s great!  But, if you’re not interested in having your own Aunt Joan do your photos, why would you want someone else’s Aunt Susie?  Bottom line, we are a professional studio that is dedicated to always making it better.  We know how to light you, we know how to pose you.  It’s in our blood.  All you have to do is show up, and the rest is on us.  We will make you love how you look, and while we are totally into using the latest and greatest editing styles, we will never resort to cheesy “photoshopped” looks, nor will we change who you are.  Don’t believe us?  Be the hostess for a Boudoir Party and try us out for free.

What kind of editing/retouching can you do?

We are both Photoshop professionals.  Most photographers will present you with a set of proof images, have you pick your favorites to print, and then edit those.  We think that’s ridiculous.  Every proof you get from us is already color corrected, cropped to perfection, and given what we feel to be the best editing treatment for that image – you don’t have to guess what your pictures will look like “after we edit them”.

I see a lot of “natural light photographers” – that sounds nice!  Are you a “natural light photographer”?

Every photographer is a natural light photographer.  Advertising as such is a pretty way to say that your photos will not take place in a studio or with any kind of external lighting. Of course, we shoot in natural light and on-location!  We also shoot in our studio using our lighting rigs to create things you just can’t do with natural/available light.  We can make your portraits perfect any time of day, any time of year, and not worry about the weather or any other distractions.  Besides, who wants to do a boudoir session in a park?  (If you just thought to yourself, “I do…that would be awesome!”, then you should definitely book a session this instant).

I won’t hire a photographer unless I get a CD of all my pictures.  Do you do that?

Digital photography being what it is, the CD has become the Almighty.  However, just as film photographers didn’t give away their negatives, we do not include high-resolution CDs with any of our sessions.  We do, however, offer Facebook-sized (low-resolution) and high resolution digital images for sale a la carte or in packages.

I want to make sure my images are safe and secure forever – how can I do that?

Legally speaking, we are obligated to inform you that we make no guarantees as to the protection of any data.  However, we take back-up very seriously.  All of our data is backed up to a external hard drives that are kept in a separate location if we are ever out of the office.  Beyond that, we have all of our client files backed up with an off-site data storage company.  That means your images are in three places at once as soon as standard backups are complete.  We know that you may prefer that added bit of security with your own photos, and so we offer your high-resolution digital images for sale.  We burn all purchased digital files onto medical-grade, archival-quality CDs/DVDs that are rated to last for 100 years – not the standard CD/DVD you get at the store, which can last anywhere from 2-15 years (maybe more, depending on the storage conditions).
