Congrats to Jenny! She is officially “Too Hot for Facebook”!
We understand that there are people (especially in the Midwest) who disapprove of boudoir photography, and we believe that it’s because they haven’t taken a second to see what it’s all about. Our goal as boudoir photographers is to empower women and remind them that they are beautiful, just as they are – it is NOT to perpetuate the objectification of women. We are actively directing husbands’ eyes back to their wives and away from the pretty faces (and other things) in magazines. There are “boudoir photographers” out there who do not share our priorities.
I said that to say this: Facebook is ridiculous. While attempting to create a Facebook ad for Boudoir by Wallflower, I decided this was a great image to attach. The ad was targeting Wichita females, ages 18-45. Nothing sketchy going on here.
Facebook did not share our love for this image, and rejected our ad because of it, claiming that the image was “unsuitable for Facebook”. A part of me was irritated, and another part was proud! We like to think that the right image with the right expression, lighting, composition, and pose can be very sexy regardless of how naked someone is. So, the fact that this modestly-covered image (no different than a swimsuit) was rejected based on the impact it had on the reviewer tells me we’re doing something right!
